[glow=red,2,300]UPDATED 4 Aug 2006[/glow]
Long-Term:
I started this thread a few months ago in an effort to place some metrics on our guild goals. We have made some progress. As I reread my words I it was clear that some things have worked and other have not. I made some adjustments to the goals and ask that everyone discuss the techniques which have worked and not worked.
Medium-Term:
In the next month we need to expand our ranks and get adequate numbers of each class enlisted into the guild. This is and must be a guild effort. I highly encourage all members in good standing to recruit friends and family to join our little band of brothers/sisters. We also need to develop our teamwork skills and individual class proficiencies. We plan to raid Zul'Gurub and AQ20 on a regular basis to start working on equipment and team building. They are perfect training grounds and the loot we get will make us all the more prepared for the future. The bar was set with our first guild raid in ZG (19 Mar 06) with 7 of the 20 members of the raid being from The Honor Guard. As of 1 Aug we had 13 members in the raid. We have made solid alliances with Honored Circle and few other small guilds and individuals so raiding ZG has become an easy task as far as putting 20 people together is concerned. Some of us have poked our heads into MC now and again with other friendly guilds in order to gauge the requirements we face and the challenges ahead. I encourage all members to look outside the guild for opportunities to upgrade personal gear and gain experience...just remember where home is! Running in pick-up-groups is also a good way to lure good folks into our ranks. In the next month we also need to develop some of our younger folks by guiding them through the lower end dungeons and quests. We can not get so focused on the end-game content that we forget the more casual members of our family. This guild is for anyone looking for fun.
Near-Term:
As I mentioned before we are planning ZG and possibly AQ20 runs on a regular basis now. The guild raids will be every Tue at 8PM unless otherwise noted. The intent is to develop our teamwork and improve our gear. Recruiting is always a focus in the near, medium and long terms as it will ultimately determine our success or failure. We do not really do "open" recruiting by spamming blurbs in general chat. We have learned this is a hit or miss technique with a low success rate for recruiting quality people that meet our standards. We have gotten very lucky on occasion but the effort is not worth the reward normally. I can only recommend that recruiting is best done on a more personal level.
[glow=red,2,300]UPDATE[/glow]
[glow=red,2,300]GOALS REACHED:[/glow]
We have reached a recruiting benchmark of 150+ members as of about 1 June 2006. Keep up the good work.
We are now raiding ZG every Tuesday and taking down bosses.
We are have some good druids and mages in the ranks but we are short on warlocks, tanks and priests.
[glow=red,2,300]NEXT GOAL:[/glow]
Recruit 10 level 55+ people before Sept (Warlocks, Warriors, Priests)
