Many members including myself need to complete a 45 minute Baron run to continue our 0.5 tier armor set. If possible I would like to schedule this as a weekly event so that we can get some practice in and a good routine/path to accomplish this task. Even when some of us accomplish this task it would be a good idea to continue this weekly run so that other members can benifate from our experience and accomplish it themselves.
I am thinking of doing this Thursday nights starting at 8:00 pm and possibly another at 9:15 pm server time. First and formost these runs are for the 0.5 armor tier set so those on the quest will be granted spots first.
I have read a few guides and posts about the 45 minute run and found many interesting articles including a way to do the 45 minute run at your leisure but I believe this is an exploit and will not be attempting it. Druids seem to be a great asset as they can innervate the priest causing less down time. The one thing that is apparent is that DPS is the most important thing. That means warriors should be dual weilding or using a two handed weapon. Only on bosses should warriors use a shield for tanking.
A few tips I have read.
Pulls should be constant. Once the last creauture is at 40% life grab the next creature.
Use corners and buildings to draw creatures through line of sight. If they cant see you they have to come find you.
After mini-bosses, two people should clear ziggurat (spelling?).
while the rest continue to the next destination and begin pulling.
While killing the Baroness (the body possesing boss) use all nessesary skills including long cooldowns as she is one of the biggest time sinks in the run. Warriors should use there fear ability just before the boss so that if they are possesed its not used on the party. All casters should stay out of range of baroness abilites.
The Baron does not need to be killed in 45 minutes. You just need to be in combat with him before time runs out.
Do not loot mobs. Only loot Bosses and click need or greed. Do not discuss check your equipment. This can take up large amounts of time. If someone else gets something you wanted don't complain your not there for loot your there for the 0.5 quest.
One trick I have read requires a paladin or warlock and someone that can ressurect. After killing the mage boss (uses ice alot) usually the third boss you can have your group run to just inside the gates to the abomination area cast Divine intervention or have soulstone on the person who can ressurect. Once everyone is dead from all the creatures use the soulstone or release DI and ressurect everyone. This saves a lot of time but can be difficult to accomplish. First everyone has to make it to the gate without dieing. If you go to far into the gate the the abominasions starting comming and the gate closes possibly trappping people outside.
This is just a few of the things I can remember. If you have any other things to add please do so. I do know there is a map of the dungeon with a recomended route and pull order that someone created. I do not have the link though.
I will be scheduling the run on the group calender in game so please sign up there. It apears theres an LBRS run for the next two weeks I will schedule for Wednesdays and maybe switch to thursdays mid october.
