All, Please download the free TS2 Client software located at www.goteamspeak.com/news.php if you intend on using TeamSpeak during parties and raids. We (Tado is the point man) are currently testing a private server linked with TeamSpeak to support our needs. Our intent is to have this server fully tested and ready for use before the weekend of 12 NOV. The purpose of TeamSpeak is to provide voice over capabilities for use during on-line play. ie: Talk through a speaker instead of typing through a keyboard. This will greatly enhance our ability to run successful high level raids in the future. Everyone thank Tado for taking on this challenge head-on and spending his time and talents to make it a reality. Thanks Tado....you the man! Egg

I have no idea. If there was a reason when I wrote that message I can't remember now.

Quick question, Tado.
I was wondering if there is a way to have multiple channels on the server...so, for example, two groups can utilize teamspeak but not have to listen in on each other's chats (for example, a younger group heading to Gnomeregan could be in one channel while a UBRS group used another)?

Yeah, that is easily done. You just have to set up and join different rooms. Since we have not had any other then certain core groups using it at any given time, I have not taken any steps to configure this. But as the guild grows, this would become necessary. If I have time over the next couple of days, I will go ahead and set up the server for multiple connections.

Tado...it looks great. Hopefully we can convince our members to put it to good use. In case anyone hasn't checked it out, Tado put a number of different "rooms" on our guild's teamspeak server so that multiple groups can utilize it at the same time without over-lapping conversations. There are rooms set up for virtually every instance ((I believe...didn't actually check the list)) thus making it useful to a five-man group going to Blackfathom Depths and a full UBRS raid.
Great work again, Tado!

I recommend that even players who don't have microphones log into Teamspeak when grouping with other guard members or participating in teamspeak meetings...I used to not have a microphone but I could still hear everything that the group was discussing which still helped to assist in making things run smoother.
Not saying you have to use TS, but...it sure does help.

I have been playing with Ventrillo for a bit now, and I did notice a quality difference. The major thing for me is that you have the ability to speak simultaneously ... one person does not drown out another. It sounds more like conversation in a room. I was wondering what the guild feeling was on switching to vent possibly? Do we think this would cause to much headache since people have at this point already gotten hooked up with TS? I am just looking for a general feeling on this, please let me know. Thanks.

I have both set up on my machine so it makes no difference to me. If we are going to make a switch then let's do it sooner rather than later. I do agree that Vent has a better quality sound and is less like a radio conversation and more like a phone call. I say set it up and let's make the switch.
